Ok so I finally have something to reflect on...so for the past month and a half I've been running my indoor veg at 14/10 which is about the amount of sunlight I get outdoors at peak of summer at my lattitude. It's been working out great so far. I've been noticing much more vigor and good growth at that schedule. I went down to 14/10 to mimic my summers outdoors.

random post of my GSC mom and a tray full of clones at various stages.

On a side note I edited the above post. Thought I was posting in my journal then realized later I was posting in blogs lol

So I pushed my light schedule up 1 more hour to 15/9...reason I decided to give it an hour more is because with the deep chunk in the veg tent I'm a little worried it's gonna wanna flower at 14/10. The deep chunk is %100 indica afghani in bred line. Don't want it to suddenly start throwing flower clusters on me, takes awhile to get em going again if they start pre flowering hard. So 15/9 for now until further notice. Deep Chunk leaves are so fat it's crazy lol

So on to ramblings... I hit a few dabs when I came home from work  and the dabs got me good. I had that awesome kind of stone where you just feel a sense of oneness and love. It was a beautiful high. Still feeling the love

Those are some green ass clones, your like a cloning wizard bro...Plants look awesome. :smileys-passing-joint:

So I gotta ask though, Why not just 18/20hrs? 3-5hr per day 21-35 extra hours a week- 1-1.5 full veg day a week extra..Just curios if it was power saving or trying to work with natural bio-rhythms of the plant or something else entirely.

Trying to work with natural bio-rhythms of the plant. I also notice I get better growth this way. in my trial and error of vegging plants indoors, I see the plants stretch a little more between nodes. when I say stretch I don't mean "bad" stretch but "good" stretch if that makes sense. and I still get good vigor and lush growth. The little stretch is actually good for me. I'll get to the reasons  why later in this same post.. But first let me say when I check the plants when lights come on at these reduced light schedules I notice a lot of new fresh growth. Nice new light green growth. Just as good growth as I been experiencing at higher light schedules. another odd thing I also do is I keep my light up high, that way the plant stretches out a little more between nodes. Gives me good growth and much better clones being that they got some stem length from the little extra stretch. If I keep the light real close to the canopy the growth is tight and squat which is cool but I like my plants to stretch a little so I can have a little longer stems for good clones and longer colas. Them spaces between the stem fill up and I get longer colas as opposed to fatter colas. Better in my climate. Fat colas tend to get budrot here outdoor due to humidity....but ya trying to work with natural bio-rhythms of plant. Want to be at the point where I have just enough light for vegging without the plants going full-on flower. I like giving my plants a lot of downtime to recover from energy spent while lights on..... sounds crazy but I look at plants as sentient beings. So like us, they need downtime rest to rebuild and recover. The dark period of downtime is just as important as when the lights are on in my eyes. Like us, plants need downtime to rest, relax, recover, and rebuild and regenerate. I notice the plants get a good growth spurt overnight during lights out. So I know growth and other important functions occur during lights out downtime. Lots of new light green growth that wasn't there prior to lights out ...so that's most of the reasoning..the way I see it you can pump me up with steroids, all the whole food nutes I need, everything that I need to perform better but I still need rest. Lots of it lol.

Thanks for kind words on the clones. My secret to nice green growth with the clones is I mist the plants with water combined with a tiny drop of N. Just a very tiny drop to a spray bottle. Works wonders

Right on bro, I know what you mean about good stretch, probably similar to roofs 12/12 from seed.

Oh ya, it's important to note I've never used HID lights. Just t12, t8,t5 floros, cfls, and my current light, a chip on board LED which I love. Never had a need to go HID cause I always flower outdoors. So I have no experience with high intensity discharge lights. To much investment for me when I have the luxury of growing year round with amazing sunshine and conditions outdoor. My indoor is just to supplement my outdoor. Mostly using my indoor set-up for mothers, clones, and vegging plants... Very important i mention that piece of information lol

Yup. That kind of good stretch lol

So the next 2 days I have off after working a 52hr work week. Gonna go do some shopping for stuff I need and then enjoy my days off. Probably rent a few videos from redbox. Smoke a bunch and stare at my plants all day long  I like to get stoned and blow smoke clouds at my plants lol I am sure they enjoy it as much as I do.
