Since I've got some flower seeds going I thought why not. post-2858-0-87711400-1488852031_thumb.jpg

Here's some zinnas, and some bachelor's buttons. That 30 gallon aquarium turned upside down is not a greenhouse or anything to help growth, it's to keep the mice out. Little blighters like to eat my seeds. Traps are always out. Down side to living in the sticks.

I had this young girl living with me. I bought her some flowers and she transplanted them in my used soil. They got huge. Every old Lady in the neighborhood was out buying fancy soil and nutes trying to catch up.....lol It was fun........rw

Hopefully I'll have similar results. Maybe I'll save some cash by growing our own, wife picked them out cheaper than buying flats of flowers. We slacked off last year with the landscaping. Push mowing this place every week did me in, then the garden got a fungus and I was over it at that point.

If I can keep my ambition up I plan to build a mini LED seed starting chamber using a plastic tote and some LED strip lights for plant growth. I enjoy my time off from time to time. Didn't get much this winter. Rain out not a freeze out. Crazy weather.

It took a nap and 3 bowls of weed but here it is. I'm out of the 4:1 red to blue LED strip lights. I'm sure the 660 NM light this strip gives off will grow plants. My hope is to get as many as possible in here for gnat protection. Probably just making a perfect gnat environment, hate those little bastard's. Kicked the 600 on with no fan or shield just to fry them. We'll see what happens.

Seeding a planter box outside with poppies and wildflower mix. Should make a nice collection of flowers. I'll cover in case of frost. Got to burn off my pompous grass. This crazy spring has everything thrown off. It gets that biochar darkwon talks about in there. It works. I have huge wads of the stuff. You can park behind it in late summer. At least 7 feet high.

One of the volunteers in the yard. No telling when it was planted. It could be a native species. It's beautiful.

Well I remodeled the Mycomatic 5000. Making a herb garden out of it. Perlite media with a soilless top dressing. Will get some herb seeds tomorrow.

Fresh out of the fridge, they've been bottom watered and several days in the cold. Misted well.post-2858-0-49930100-1489195697_thumb.jpg

Then wrapped well and tightly to give them every edge over the gnats. Cooler weather on the way. We'll see what happens. I've thrown all I have at them.

Zinnas topped the soil today. Waiting on the bachelor button.

I've looked closer and everything other than the zinnas is the same plant, what the mystery plant is I do not know. Doesn't have the seed case attached so I'm dubious about it being poppies.

Some of my flower seeds, the cleome are going on a hillside I cleaned off today, along with the remaining McCormick seeds.

My Basil seeds for the remodeled Mycomatic 5000. We'll see if it works. Will use fish water in this grow because it's a food item. Also included mykos in the soilless mix.

On even closer inspection I found these, seed case intact and attached to the leaf. It could be a Poppy but I'm so new at this I can't say at this point.
